Local students develop underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) while developng entrepreneurial, problem solving, engineeriing, physics, and technical skills.

 MATE PA Regional ROV Challenge

May 11, 2019-  Villanova, PA –Thirty teams from CN, NY, PA, NJ, DE, MD, DC, and northern VA will compete this year in the MATE PA Challenge’s 9th Annual Student ROV Competition.  Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s) are tethered underwater robots used to complete real-world-scenarios (missions) in underwater environments.  

Teams must prepare technical documentations for their vehicle, make a product presentation and create a marketing display to a panel of university and industry judges for awards.  The top three teams move onto the 2019 MATE International in Kingsport, TN.

Professionals that are project managers, electricians, engineers, carpenters, designers, public relations personnel and educators, etc., are welcomed.
